Bells were rung at Lynn Minster to mark the 100th anniversary of the Zeppelin raids over Lynn.
The team rung half-muffled bells at 7pm on Monday. Bombs were dropped on the town by a Zeppelin which resulted in the deaths of two people. Pictured from left are; Peter Jackson, John Benstead, Carol Reeve, Andy Reeve, Sue Nulty, Wendy Twite, Jennifer Watts and Ian Russel.
Bellringers at St Faith’s church in Gaywood remembered the victims of the raid by ringing a quarter-peal (1260 different changes) at St Faith’s church on Sunday. The bells were rung half-muffled - one side of each bell’s clapper was covered with a leather cup to create a mournful sound. The quarter-peal took 50 minutes to ring.
