“A slum” is how a pensioner has described a landing at a sheltered complex due to a leaking roof that has caused months of misery.
Winifred Lawman says the flat roof on a communal landing outside her flat in Minster Court in Lynn began to leak in April last year.
Some repairs have been conducted but the steady drip, drip, drip of the leak continued.
Mrs Lawman says she has to lay down newspaper to mop up the leaks and that the rain water has caused floor tiles on the landing to lift.
Hyde Housing, which looks after Minster Court, says repair work will be undertaken.
Mrs Lawman said: “It looks like a slum. We have newspapers on the floor of the landing to catch the water.
“It has been affecting me as nothing has been done since June last year.
“When it rains I worry about the landing. I’m often removing the papers.”
Chyrel Brown, director of resident services said: “We responded swiftly to repair the first leak but further investigation has revealed that what originally presented as a straightforward fix has become a major project and we’re now working to complete the repair to the roof.
“We apologise for any inconvenience to residents as we progress to completion but we would like to reassure them that we’re doing everything possible to get this done as soon as we can and we will continue to keep them updated on progress.”
