Lynn’s volunteer police cadets, pictured above, took to West Norfolk’s roads to support frontline officers and customs officials in an operation against the use of illegal fuel.

Two drivers were fined after their vehicles were found to be using red diesel during the operation last Saturday. One chose not to reclaim his vehicle.

And a further 50 drivers will receive warning letters for inappropriate speeding in the targeted areas.

Sergeant Darryl Grief, who runs the police cadets programme in Lynn, said: “This was an extremely successful weekend where the teams worked together allowing the cadets to receive a great insight into how the police work in partnership with other agencies.”
