KL.FM radio presenter Adam Newstead made an emotional announcement on his breakfast show on Wednesday when he told listeners he was off to pastures new.
Adam, 31, who has worked at KL.FM for five years, is leaving to take a senior management position with the Global Radio group, and will be based in Norwich.
He told the Lynn News it was one of the hardest decisions of his life to leave KL.FM.
He said: “It was an incredibly tough decision for me to decide to leave my job – I love KL.FM. It’s a station I grew up listening to and I had always wanted to work there, but I have been offered an opportunity which I could not turn down,
“Everyone here at KL.FM is so lovely and the vibe is so brilliant. I am very sad to leave because I am so connected to this radio station. I have a loyal audience and I am going with a seriously heavy heart.
“I am leaving with my highest ever breakfast audience in West Norfolk, which we have built up over the years, and it’s great that so many people have made the connection with me.”
The final Adam Newstead Breakfast Show will be broadcast on Friday, March 27. Adam said that he was actively involved in the process of appointing his future successor.
