Howard Junior School has been recognised by a leading charity for highlighting a campaign to help penguins.

The Gaywood school has been tweeting about the work it has done on penguins to John Lewis.

John Lewis’s official charity is the World Wildlife Fund penguin appeal for the Adelie penguins like Monty, who appeared on the company’s advert.

Headteacher Greg Hill said the charity asked the school to take part in a dance competition through the social media site, through which it posted a video on its YouTube channel.

The charity used the video as part of its own promotion and has given the school a year’s sponsorship of the penguins.

Mr Hill said: “It is so good our video design work has been recognised and celebrated by a major UK and world charity.”
