King’s Lynn school showcases its talents

Children at Lynn’s Greyfriars Primary School have showcased their talents in a variety of events, including a musical performance and a public speaking competition.

Forty pupils in years three and four performed in the annual Schools Make Music showcase at the Corn Exchange.

The programme included singing, dancing, and the performance of a musical group from the school called Uke, Toot and Tap.

The musical instruments, played by the students from three classes, included ukulele, glockenspeil, ocarina and boomwackers.

A strings group called All Strings Considered also performed at the Norfolk County Music Festival, where they impressed judges.

“Fantastic presentation,” one judge remarked.

Both groups were led by the school’s instrumental teaching lead, Jessica Berners.

She said she was “immensely proud of all the children involved in the Corn Exchange and string group performances.”

A Greyfriars team also finished second at a public speaking competition with a presentation discussing environmental sustainability.
