The King’s Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars picked up their first away win of the 2015 Elite League season on Monday night with a 50-34 win over Leicester.

Lynn, who needed an away win, took control of the meeting in the fourth race as Nicklas Porsing and Lewis Kerr scored a 4-2 advantage. That was followed by a run of three maximum heat advantages.

Wins from Robert Lambert, Niels-Kristian Iversen (pictured) and captain Rory Schlein put the Stars 14 points clear of the hosts.

The second half of the meeting was a lot closer and that was because of rainfall that hit the Beaumont Park track. The Stars managed to hold onto their lead of 14 points after the penultimate race, at which point the meeting was declared a result.

The Stars pick up four points for their away win, and that will be a major boost heading into Wednesday’s home fixture against the Lions. Gates open at 6pm.

Leicester Lions: Jason Doyle 8, Josh Auty 9, Simon Lambert 7+2, Max Fricke (G) 7+1, Bjarne Pedersen 2+1, Szymon Wozniak 2, Mikkel Michelsen 0.

Lynn Stars: Niels-Kristian Iversen 10+1, Lewis Kerr 9, Rory Schlein 8+2, Robert Lambert 8, Kenneth Bjerre 7+1, Nicklas Porsing 5+1, Ashley Morris 3+1.
