A special service will be held in Lynn’s St Nicholas Chapel this weekend as part of a day of events to celebrate Sea Sunday.
Traditionally, the day was when boats and nets would be blessed in the chapel.
However, in more recent times, the day has been held to remember seafarers and pray for them, their families and all those who support them.
The service will take place in the chapel at 10am, before a procession to the fisher fleet at 11am, where the boats will be blessed.
Then, from 1pm, a yard party will take place at True’s Yard museum, for which tickets are currently on sale, priced £5.
Proceeds from the event, which includes a 1930’s themed afternoon tea and mocktails served in teacups, will go to the museum’s ongoing Silver Jubilee appeal.
And guests are being encouraged to dress in costumes of the period.
True’s Yard will also be open from 11am until 3pm for anyone who wants to know more about Lynn’s fishing community.
