The King’s Lynn Young Stars travel to Mildenhall on Sunday for a speedway derby having already beaten the Fen Tigers twice this season.
In early April the Stebbing Cars Sales Young Stars won both legs of the National League Knockout Cup Mildenhall. Lynn will field the same one to seven that beat the Buxton Hitmen at home at the Adrian Flux Arena last week.
Lynn team boss Dale Allitt (pictured) is aware of a possible backlash in Sunday’s National League fixture, but is confident when his troops travel to West Row.
He said: “It’s always difficult to get an away result, but we won there by 14 points, so we know how to win there.
“We’ll be trying to repeat the result from the 12th of April (38-52).
“Things will be a little bit different as Jack Kingston missed both legs of the cup and we missed Layne Cupitt in the first meeting, while on Sunday Mildenhall will be missing Liam Rumsey.
“We’re confident of putting in another decent performance.”
In the quarter-final of the KO Cup, the home leg versus Buxton will be on Wednesday, June 10, with the away leg to follow at a date to be confirmed.
On Wednesday the King’s Lynn Stars suffered the first postponement of their 2015 season.
The Elite League fixture between the Roger Warnes Transport Stars and the Leicester Lions was postponed due to dangerous conditions and high winds at the Adrian Flux Arena.
A new date for the fixture is yet to be confirmed.
The Young Stars’ away trip to Birmingham that night was also postponed. A new date for the fixture has been arranged for Wednesday, July 29.
