A Lynn plumbing apprentice has scooped gold in a national training programme.

Cameron Carr, 18, attended the Midlands SkillPlumb regional qualifier at South and City College Birmingham where he proved to be on top of the competition.

The award means Cameron, who is studying at the College of West Anglia, will be invited to take part in WorldSkills UK this November.

Stephen Lowery, the college's head of faculty technology said: “This is a fantastic result and definitely something to shout about.”

SkillPlumb is an annual skills competition designed to promote excellence within the plumbing industry and recognise exceptional skills.
