King's Lynn arrest after police talk to street drinkers

Police arrested a person in Lynn's town centre today for failing to appear at court.

The arrest came after police had spoken to a group of street drinkers in the town.

A social media post by police at 1.10pm today said alcohol was seized and one person was arrested after talks took place.

The post emphasised that anti-social drinking will not be tolerated in an alcohol exclusion zone.

A Public Space Protection Order was enforced by the borough council in October, 2017 for a period of three years.

This order relates to all land in Lynn which the public have access to "with or without payment."

"When asked by an authorised person to stop drinking or surrender their alcohol, no person shall consume alcohol or have an open container of alcohol in the Restricted Area," the order stated.
