A man from Lynn is due to appear in court tomorrow after dozens of firearms were seized during searches in the area.

Jurijs Ragozins, 44, of Saddlebow Road, was arrested in All Saints' Street by officers from the National Crime Agency's (NCA) Armed Operations Unit on Friday.

The agency says that, following the arrest, 12 handguns, ammunition and 29 stun guns were recovered during searches in the Lynn area.

NCA branch commander Martin Huxley said this morning: "Preventing firearms from reaching the hands of criminals is a key priority for the NCA.

"This represents a significant seizure of weapons which I've no doubt would have been used to commit violent acts on our streets. Our investigation into this seizure continues."

NCA regional head of investigations Andrea Wilson added: "Removing these weapons from the criminal market will protect our communities from the harm they could have caused.

"I'd particularly like to thank our partners at Norfolk Police for their support and assistance throughout this operation."
