King's Lynn man in driver's seat while three times alcohol limit escapes ban

A Lynn resident more than three times the drink-drive limit while in the driver's seat of his stationary car has dodged a disqualification.

The engine of the Honda Accord was running when police approached but Kazimieras Tverijonas claimed he was only in it to get his phone and cash.

Magistrates in Lynn on Thursday told the 52-year-old that they were not using their powers to give a discretionary disqualification so that he would not lose his job as a forklift driver at a Spalding factory.
