Update: King's Lynn road blocked by broken level crossing today

The level crossing on Tennyson Avenue in Lynn was not working blocking the road and police appealed to motorists this morning to avoid the area.

A tweet from the King's Lynn Police account said: "The level crossing on Tennyson Avenue, Kings Lynn is currently broken, please avoid the area and find an alternative route."

But the level crossing was back working again by mid-morning and traffic, which had coped well despite the closure, was back to normal.

The level crossing has nearly 60 freight and passenger trains cross it on a daily basis and is on a very busy route around The Walks.
