King's Lynn volunteer's 'amazing day' at royal wedding
A Lynn charity worker has described her "amazing"experience at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the weekend.
Carly Hain, lead youth worker at SPEADA, received her invite last month after being one of just 1,200 nominated members of the public to be asked to join the royal wedding celebrations in Windsor.
"It was really amazing, me and Josh, my partner, were really overwhelmed that we could be there and so grateful to be a part of the day," Miss Hain said.
"It was a once in a lifetime thing, the next royal wedding won't be until Prince George gets married."
She said the pair had a "really good spot"in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Saturday, where they watched celebrities and members of the royal family arrive for the service.
"It felt like we were in a Disney film, we were in touching distance of all the celebrities,"Miss Hain said.
"It was really exciting, it was such a surreal day, it didn't feel real. I'm still on a high from it all.
"We saw so many people, they were so lovely and they spoke to us."
She said once the ceremony had finished, they were allowed to go into the chapel, where the service had taken place.
"The smell of the flowers was so intense as they were all fresh."
Miss Hain, who supports young carers in her role, was nominated to receive an invitation by the former High Sheriff of Norfolk James Bagge.
She said she would not have had the opportunity if it were not for a number of other people at SPEADA.
"I feel really guilty about taking it all on myself.
"Without the young people, and without the volunteers, it would not have been possible. I want to say a big thank you to them."
