KL.FM Off Air, by Charles Dennett, October 24, 2017
And so it has happened. Forget milestone birthdays, forget reaching the legal ages where you can finally go on a night out. I am now an adult, why now?
Because now I’m getting excited about buying hoovers and bins! After 20 long years I’m flying the nest. Yesterday we got the keys to our new house. My girlfriend and myself are moving in with Charlotte Fisher from the news and we all are super excited. Just yesterday as Charlotte was leaving work I rushed out to show her the hoover that I had bought, she excitedly responded by showing me the bin and washing line she had gotten. Hello adult world, I have arrived.
Even without the moving life has been hectic of recent. Everyone here at KL.FM towers has been busy, to the point where I think we’ve all been in the building together once last week. Si is out every day delivering reflective stickers to schools across Norfolk for Be Safe Be Seen and giving out cakes on Appy days as he goes. I myself have been visiting a least one school every day for a secret Christmas project… see if you can guess what it is, it involves a LOT of singing! I think we’re both grateful for the half term week off!
Back to the 80s does Halloween is fast approaching on the 27th, we’ll be boogying away at the Corn Exchange to 80s classics and live music from the wild boys too. It’s been a sell out, so we’re all excited to get in and get dancing with everyone. If you see people dressed up around town that Friday night, you now know why.
We launched a brand new station last Monday. KL.FM 70s is on online and on our app. Playing nothing but hits from the 70s 24/7, you can get to it by clicking on 70s on our website, or if you download our free app you can hit the station’s button in the bottom right corner and switch over there.
Fawkes in the Walks is right around the corner and then before we know it it’ll be Christmas light switch ons! Part of me is excited and can’t wait for it to be getting dark early, and feeling festive. But the other part just wants it all to slow down a bit! No matter how busy it gets, we’ll be on the radio to help you get through it. You can join me usually in the mornings from 9–12 or over on Hometime from 3–7 when Posh Charles is off at panto. Don’t be afraid to text in and get involved in the shows. I’m off to get excited about cutlery! #Adulting
