You may know that I’ve a challenge to meet 10,000 people and have a ‘Selfie’ with them, I’ve a year to meet this target however I’m already eight months in to the quest.
If you’re wondering why I’m doing this, it’s to help as many charities and community events as I possibly can and then give them the publicity they deserve on my show and on my blog via KLFM’s website. So far it’s been amazing and I could fill this column ten times over writing about the amazing people and places I’ve been. I thought I’d let you know what’s in the diary for May and also why perhaps if you haven’t already been part of this why you should. I’m quite close to the half way mark and when I reach 5000 selfies that person will win an Audi Convertible for the weekend from King’s Lynn Audi.
On the 13th I’ll be cutting the ribbon to mark the shiny new looking NatWest Bank after their refurb on the Tuesday Market Place with selfie stick and board in tow from 12pm.
The Samaritans have a bike ride around Sandringham on the 15th, providing the weather’s good this will be a great opportunity to get some exercise at a nice pace around this beautiful part of our area whilst also raising money for a great cause and yes having a selfie too.
The Mid Norfolk Youth Football League have invited me back to host their awards at the Alive Corn Exchange on the 17th. It’s a fantastic evening to celebrate achievements over the season, hundreds of awards will be given on the night and hopefully even more selfies taken, too.
It’s nearly time for the Hanse Festival and yours truly will also be hosting this wonderful free event from the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. They’ll be loads happening for the family over the weekend including medieval dancing to the ancient art of archery, craft demonstrations, a medieval market and much more. On the Saturday night I’ll be chasing audience members with my selfie stick and introducing some amazing live music as the sun goes down on King Staithe Square
One on my favourite invites for this month will be attending Ladies Day at Fakenham Races on the 22nd, it will also be a fantastic family day out and who knows might even boost the bank account. You know where I am if you have any tips or fancy a selfie on the day!
I’ll be chasing more selfies at the Alive Corn Exchange on the 28th at Manhattan Nights. This event raises cash for the amazing ‘Reach for the Stars’ who help children less fortunate than yours or mine. If you fancy a party, tickets for this charity night are on sale from their Box Office now.
