Families are being invited to help finish decorating a model spitfire at a special mosaic workshop being held in a Lynn shopping centre tomorrow.

The workshop is the second to be held in the town’s Vancouver Quarter, ahead of the launch of a trail of the famous planes which will go on display around Lynn later this month.

The trail is being organised by members of the 42 F King’s Lynn air cadets squadron, as part of the celebrations to mark their first freedom parade, which will take place on July 18. The group received the accolade from West Norfolk Council last year.

Two of the plans in the trail are being sponsored by the Vancouver Quarter.

And the session to decorate one of them will take place between 11am and 4pm on Saturday, next to Costa Coffee and opposite Wilkinson on New Conduit Street.

Officials say there are still plenty of places available for the 30 minute sessions, particularly at 1pm and 3pm, throughout the day.

The event is suitable for children aged five and over and people can book as many sessions as they like.

Anyone interested in reserving places at the workshop should visit for more details.
