LATEST NEWS: Boy, 16, held following alleged firearms incident in Swaffham

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested following an alleged firearms incident in Swaffham this afternoon, Thursday, January 15.

Armed police were sent to Carter Close in the town at around 1.15pm today, following reports that shots had been fired.

Several people were initially detained before the boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and criminal damage.

He was taken to the Saddlebow investigation centre for questioning. Two weapons, believed to be an air rifle and an air pistol, were seized.
