Three people have been injured, two of them seriously, in a collision on the A47 at West Bilney this afternoon, Friday, January 30.
Emergency crews were called to the area at around 4.30pm today following the head-on crash, which is believed to have involved two cars. One of the vehicles ended up on its side.
A Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) spokesman said a man, thought to be in his 20s, was airlifted to Addenbrookes’ Hospital in Cambridge with serious leg and pelvic injuries.
A woman, also thought to be in her 20s and who was travelling in the same vehicle, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn with multiple limb injuries.
Both had been trapped in the vehicle and the spokesman said it took emergency crews over an hour to free them.
A second woman was also taken to the QEH with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The A47 remains closed tonight the Hardwick roundabout and Swaffham with diversions in place via the A10, A1122 and A134.
