Drivers are being warned to expect significant disruption on the A10 at Tottenhill this evening, Thursday, November 13, as engineers repair a collapsed telecoms manhole.
Temporary traffic signals are in place at the scene, which is around 200 metres from the roundabout with the A134.
And extra staff have also been sent to the area to manually control the signals in order to aid the flow of traffic.
Highways officials say they expect the repairs to be completed by 9am tomorrow, but admit they expect “significant disruption” during peak periods. An alternative route via the A47 and A1122 has been suggested.
They have also stressed the affected area is not on the same stretch of the A10 which is currently being used to divert traffic away from the scene of this morning’s train crash near Downham.
