An investigation has been launched after two people were injured, one of them seriously, in a crash on the B1145 at Great Massingham this morning.

Police say they were called at around 7am today to reports of a crash between a red Ford Focus, which was heading east along the B1145, and a black Volkswagen Golf, which was travelling towards Gayton.

The Ford left the road and came to rest in a ditch.

The driver of the Ford was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with what police have described as serious injuries.

The driver of the Volkswagen was also hurt and was taken to Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash.

Anyone who saw the incident, has dashcam footage of it, or any information about it, is asked to contact PC Kerry Harman, of the Swaffham Roads Policing unit via the non-emergency 101 number, quoting incident number 77 of August 7.
