Put an end to the ‘jollies’, Lynn News Letters

Expenses are going up, council tax is going up, there are reductions in social healthcare and care for the vulnerable, reduction in policing – the list goes on.

Yet all the jollies are paid for, the Hanseatic nonsense, drinks parties, festival tickets, freebies – all enjoyed by the free-loaders. Oh wait, how about lighting up old churches and deserted town centre locations when there are no tourists or anyone remotely interested. Vancouver Quarter? Why light up all those empty shops and at what cost?

Even better, the “speed” lights down Tennyson Avenue told me I was doing 34mph when in reality I was slowing down to turn off the main road and noticed I was doing 18mph!

It’s about time this town got a grip on itself.

Stop the councillors’ jollies and put the money back into real funding.
