Behaviour dangerous at level crossing near Downham Market railway station

Obviously the red lights were working and as I sat waiting for the train to arrive, I SAW two males IGNORE the barriers and both climb over them and dash across the tracks just AS THE TRAIN APPROACHED from the Cambridge side.

To say I was expecting the worst to happen is putting it mildly as having worked on the railway, I was involved in a Fatality and they are FAR from nice.

I wasn’t the driver, but jointly found the victim who later died from his injuries. I was only in the cab with the driver as we had been stopped and advised the driver of a train travelling in the opposite direction had reported hitting something a short way from the station we were then approaching.

That victim’s father BLAMED the railway for him being on the track in the first place.

HOW did these two in their IDIOTIC behaviour tonight, expect the train-driver to steer the train around them? I daresay they never had tickets anyway and just think of their family if I am correct and they HAD been hit? I suppose their family would then blame the train-driver for them dying, because he/she was unable to miss them?
