Closure of part of Peddars Way remains a mystery, Lynn News letters
Because when she lived there, like I did, it went straight across to the house over the road, close to the house where Mr and Mrs Masters lived.
They had a dairy and sold milk and served tea to walkers passing through, as the Peddars Way went up to the clump near the old aerodrome and down to Fring cross, where the River Hitch starts.
It was closed up in early 1950 and I don’t know why. One day it was open when we went to school, and when we came home, it was closed. Does any local reader know why?
