Global warming – will vegetarian diets really save the planet? Lynn News letters

Moving eastwards along the south coast to Brighton, it is the turn of Labour to get in on the comedy at its conference.

The salient subject on the drama stakes was hot air being exuded from the platform over livestock methane emissions and its contribution to global warming. The Labour barrister Michael Mansfield QC campaigned for meat eating to be criminalised like smoking on behalf of Vegan Now.

The theory which Labour takes seriously is that a nanny state brainwashing people’s minds towards vegan and vegetarian diets away from meat might save the planet.

What was missing from Labour’s meat-free utopia was the increase in human flatulence from vegetarian meals, such as baked beans on toast for breakfast, being a contributing factor to global warming? Over to Labour’s first lady of North West Norfolk Jo Rust for guidance to get round this, and would she consider a motion to be passed at the Labour Party Conference 2020?
