BBC programmes are disappointing, Lynn News letters
Fifty to sixty years ago the BBC licence fee was good value for money – Play For Today or Z Cars, Morecambe and Wise, Porridge and Newsnight, the list is almost endless.
Now we have middle-class socialist propaganda and hours of irrelevant foreign news and current affairs plus politically correct drama. The rest of schedule is made up of cheap programmes – cookery, etc, and repeats – some almost as old as the people the BBC intend to rip-off.
While we are expected to watch this mind gruel, we have so-called comedians becoming millionaires and staff and executives earning more than the Prime Minister.
If you don’t pay your bill to Sky or any other retailer you are not hauled off to jail – it is a civil matter.
So why are so-called “licence fees” paid to the BBC different? If the authorities think they have a problem with overcrowded prisons now what will happen if, as I suggest, all pensioners refuse to pay up?
