Tree felling in King's Lynn is example of 'corporate vandalism', Lynn News letters

The latest assessment by the IUCN Red List is that horse chestnuts are now vulnerable towards extinction in Europe.

At the east end of Chase Avenue, there is a small grassed area on which stood the most magnificent horse chestnut tree, some 4ft in diameter.

Alas this healthy tree was in the way of some our market-obsessed council plans and the tree lays forlornly felled on its side.

The cut surfaces look fine with no signs of rot. Like the South Lynn kiln, we should be aware of this council’s reckless corporate vandalism. Watch out South Gate.
