Report use of defibrillators in Downham Market

By Lynn News Reporter

The cabinets are kept locked with a code, available from the emergency services, if the defibrillators are required. In one of the incidents the electrode pads have been removed along with some of the accessories kept within the cabinet. On neither occasion is there a record of the defibrillators being used in an emergency.

These two defibrillators are provided to the community as an emergency facility at no cost to the community with the hope that, if required, a life may be saved. If you need to use one of the defibrillators, please make sure that someone reports that use so that it can be made ready for the next user.

Both these defibrillators are checked on a weekly basis. If you see any defibrillator cabinet being misused please report it immediately to the police. Damaged or non-functioning defibrillators will not save lives. Hopefully those who leave them inoperable will not be the ones who need them next!
