Lynn News Letters to the editor
Not being a car owner, this service was most useful if attending a show at the Princess Theatre that came down at around 10am. Picking up a Lynx timetable recently, I saw that the last bus from Hunstanton on Monday to Saturday now leaves at 9.35pm – and unfortunately have only discovered this after booking a ticket some weeks ago at the Princess Theatre.
Telephoning Lynx to find out if there might be in the height of the summer a 10.35pm bus from Hunstanton, if only on a Saturday night, I was told that this was unlikely due to bus subsidies being cut and the fact that this bus time in the past did not have enough passengers to make it viable.
To get a taxi between Hunstanton and Lynn at around 10pm, assuming that there is a taxi company in the area that operates at this time of night, will be very expensive. By having this letter printed, I am asking Lynn News readers with cars if any of them are thinking of attending the Lance Ellington Sings Broadway concert at the Princess Theatre on Saturday, July27, at 7.30pm. If so, would you have room for one or two more passengers as a London friend of mine might also be booking for the same show? I live at the Seven Sisters end of Extons Road, in Lynn, and am quite happy at night to walk a reasonable distance, say ten minutes, from being dropped off at a different point.
