Cover of Lynn Town football programme was unacceptable, Lynn News letters

By Lynn News Reporter

Not only was it offensive to practising Christians, it could even be construed as blasphemous as it appears to equate Stephen Cleeve with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Had a similar cover depicted him as Mohammad I imagine there would have been an outcry but, on the whole, Christians tend to accept these insults and move on.

However, it has definitely lowered Lynn Town in my estimation as did, although I am a staunch Norwich City supporter, a picture on a Norwich fan Facebook page depicting Daniel Farke as the Sacred Heart, a symbol dear to many Catholic Christians.

Humour is all well and good, but equating any human being, all because they are doing well in their respective football clubs, to God, as found in His Son, Jesus Christ, is totally unacceptable in my opinion.
