Criticism of MP is misplaced, Lynn News Letters

I don’t think it’s right to hold our current MP responsible for the rescheduling of the train service, frustrating as it is, which is mainly to take into account the added station at Cambridge North. Nor do I think Henry is responsible for, or could have influenced a board level decision by Marks and Spencer and/or Debenhams to recalibrate their businesses.

Jo Rust seems to forget that Gordon Brown was the champion of saddling the NHS with untold debt by his widespread use of PPFI which was mainly a means of disguising the huge debt mountain he placed on the NHS from the country. It’s come home to roost now, Jo, hasn’t it? Trade union assistance of public service workers is laughable. It is the unions who are responsible for the chaos inflicted on millions of journeys on Southern Rail bu insisting that a guard is required to open the doors. None of the trains from Lynn or King’s Cross have a guard or sometimes even a ticket inspector. How many accidents/fatalities have there been as a result of the driver opening or closing doors incorrectly? I think every traveller knows how to push the illuminated button. I suspect the single incident of doors being opened on the wrong side of the train was contrived. What does Jo Rust think she, as a lone voice in Parliament, could do that Henry doesn’t do? I like the slogan that the country should be run for the benefit of the many rather than the few. By the few does she mean those who are able bodied but choose not to work and cost our social services system not just millions but perhaps billions, for being non-productive? The reduction in claimants for sickness benefits indicates a certain number of fraudulent claims. Nor can Henry be blamed for a reduction of footfall in town. We all are! High streets across the country are suffering because so many people prefer to shop on the Net. How does she propose to stop this? Henry has been extremely supportive and helpful, at ministerial level, with a project which I set up to raise funds for the annual beach recycling between Snettisham and Hunstanton which is a direct local benefit. I doubt if Jo Rust knows anything about this. It’s easy to criticise, but it’s this constant political tittle tattle that turns people off politics and politicians.
