Corbyn's Brexit dilemma, Lynn News letters
Mr Corbyn admits Labour won’t support leaving the single market, a hard Brexit or any other cobbled version of the customs union that threatens the UK economy hence British jobs. This implies he’s against Brexit but can’t bring himself around to saying it in case it offends the so called ‘will of the people’ expressed in that non cerebral binary referendum set in 2016 where the Leave campaign couldn’t even muster up a credible manifesto for leaving!
Mr Corbyn thinks that by Labour succumbing to the Brexit ‘feel good’ mentality, many mainly working class natural Labour voters who switched to the likes of UKIP populism would now revert back to Labour, which is a total fallacy as the recent local elections results proved where the Tories reaped up many of their votes.
Mr Corbyn should now realise in 2018 as opposed to the situation in 1972 that there is only one of two choices: either Brexit, which is simply a right wing Tory policy that exploits divisive xenophobic instincts, exploits immigration fears etc., will mean more privatisation, deregulation and lack of accountably; or, the continued relationship and membership of a European Union where, despite its current flaws has the potential and capacity to evolve into a wider federal democratic bloc of countries that ignores petty nationalistic instincts and at least attempts to bring pro-Brexit fat cat tax dodgers to account. .
