'Queen Elizabeth Hospital' signs.
'Queen Elizabeth Hospital' signs.

Just had to write to you regarding the wonderful joined-up service I had this week from our great NHS, both the St James Medical Practice and our Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Monday went like this: At 9.30am I rang for an appointment to check a post-surgery infection in my groin and a bad chest. At 10am I was called back to attend an appointment with Dr Follows for 11.20am. Wow.

At 11.15am Dr Follows saw me five minutes early. Wow. He prescribed antibiotics and said he would contact my consultant (Ms Doherty) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

At 12.30pm, Ms Doherty’s secretary rang to ask me if I could attend the urology clinic at 4pm the same day. Wow.

At 4.05pm I was seen by Dr Lee at the QEH who advised the prescribed antibiotics was exactly that which he would have prescribed.

He then examined me, took a swab of the infected area and made an appointment to see me Friday, Ocotber 20. Wow.

I just wanted to thank all concerned for my superlative treatment.

It has been a revelation just how good is our NHS in good old Norfolk.

I couldn’t have experienced any better in the private sector.

My heartfelt thanks to all of the clinicians and admin staff involved.
