Why in the world did you Council Leader Brian Long, the council and planning department ever give the go ahead to chop down the tree in the open space near the Argos store?
We all know that Lynn is one of most air polluted areas and trees give off oxygen.
And now you want to open up Hardings Way to all kinds of air polluting traffic.
Will there be a charge for using Hardings Way, to limit the number of polluting cars such as is the case in London?
In 2014, the council voted to turn it into a road for buses and bicycles only. The deputy council leader at the time said: “The current levels are not good enough, so it’s important we do all we can to make Lynn a more environmentally friendly place to work and live.”
Yes, this quote was made by you, Councilor Long, when you were deputy council leader.
So, why do you want to increase air pollution in West Norfolk?
Why doesn’t this council ever think of the infrastructure when it plans anything for the borough before they grant planning permission?
You Cllr Long and Cllr Beal can boast about increasing house building here in Lynn but you haven’t been boasting about the increase in air pollution this will cause.
If the infrastructure can’t be supplied by others, such as the NHS, schools department and highways, then the council shouldn’t pass any house building or any other planning schemes.
We now know that the police service is getting smaller and there will be only one police station in West Norfolk, so why does the council want to bring more people into our country towns to live? The problem isn’t building housing, but building them in the right places and make sure the infrastructure is in place before planning is passed.
