Live music due back at Lynn Minster

Live music is expected to be returning to Lynn Minster next month.

Since the beginning of February, the Minster has been streaming organ recitals given freely by a number of local organists and these will continue every Tuesday lunchtime until May 18.

From that date, providing government restrictions are lifted as planned, the weekly live lunchtime recitals will be back, starting with a recital by the director of music, Adrian Richards. They will then continue every Tuesday until October 5.

The re-opening of the Minster café is still not yet confirmed but it is hoped that by late June it will also be able to open.

The Minster choir was also unable to sing live for much of the lockdown, apart from a sell-out carol service, but it is now back and sang a choral evensong on Friday in commemoration of the Duke of Edinburgh.

The choir went on to sing a full, live choral evensong on Sunday and will continue each Sunday at 6.30pm, apart from once a month when they will sing at the morning 10am Eucharist.
