Liz Truss to fight next general election for South West Norfolk MP seat after being nominated by Conservative Association

Liz Truss will fight at the next general election after being nominated for a fifth consecutive term.

Last night (Tuesday), the current South West Norfolk MP was formally re-elected by the South West Norfolk Conservative Association to be its members' candidate.

Ms Truss has represented the borough in parliament since 2010, and last year became the shortest serving UK Prime Minister when she resigned just 44 days after taking the role.

"Thanks to my local association for their ongoing support and I look forward in due course to us fighting a fifth general election together."

The borough's Conservative Association said Ms Truss will continue to "champion South West Norfolk".
