A man was taken to hospital after jumping from a footbridge into oncoming traffic near Denver yesterday.

The male, in his mid 20s, jumped from the Nightingale Lane footbridge over the A1122 at about 2.44pm, but luckily he wasn’t hit by any vehicles.

He suffered neck and back injuries in the fall and the Magpas air ambulance was called to the scene, but he was taken to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital by road ambulance as he was in a stable, non-life threatening condition.

The police attended the scene and closed the road; re-opening the carriageway at 3.43pm.
