"He has been an enthusiastic supporter of our work to renew our strategy in the past year and will play a key role in helping to implement it over the next three years.”

The FSDF offers a range of services that includes health and safety initiatives, education and training for the food sector and networking.

Colin said: “Now more than ever the food industry needs to be heard at the highest levels; health and safety, and food standards need to be maintained if the UK is to retain the reputation for high quality that it has come to enjoy around the world.

"The future, in the face of changing government leadership and Brexit is uncertain, but therein lies opportunity for an industry that is prepared for it. The FSDF have been working hard to see that we are heard and that our views are represented, and that’s a very worthwhile endeavour to be a part of.”
