King's Lynn construction manager for Lovell Partnerships is shortlisted for an Investors in the People award
A Lynn-based construction manager has been shortlisted for an Investors in People Award.
Michael Saunders, who works for Lovell Partnerships, has been named a finalist in the Leader of the Year (250 plus employees) category. Lovell has also been shortlisted for another award for Learning and Development.
Last month he was also named as a finalist for the Construction Manager of the Year Awards .
Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage staff effectively, and highlighting a company’s success in ensuring learning opportunities are available to everyone.
Michael Saunders began working for Lovell in 2001. In partnership with West Norfolk Council, he delivered a record number of new homes, all whilst improving customer satisfaction across the region and taking the lead in community-based activities.
Simon Medler, regional managing director at Lovell, said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for two Investors in People Awards in recognition of both our people and Michael’s hard work and dedication.
“At Lovell our employees are extremely important to us, and I’m very proud to see that the emphasis we place on supporting our staff has been recognised. It’s our people who really make the difference – they bring innovation, commitment and expertise to everything they do.
“Michael is someone who evidences all the qualities of a great leader and strives to empower people to be the best they can be. He has inspired his team to achieve more than they thought possible and deliver outstanding results, without sacrificing his commitment to training young people and ensuring our projects contribute positively to the community as a whole.”
Michael Saunders said: “I’m delighted to have been named a finalist. I always enjoy meeting new people, supporting and developing others into their roles and helping to encourage young people into the industry, and I’m looking forward to building on that in the future.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Investors in People Awards ceremony has been cancelled and this year’s winners will be announced online on November 24.
