Kip McGrath Education Centre in King's Lynn wins recognition for forging media links
An education centre in Lynn has been named as a franchisee of the month from 270 centres, thanks to it forging positive links with the media and presenting a Facebook page, described as "exemplary".
Heather and Paul Rugg, of the Kip McGrath centre in Norfolk Street, have been named as the franchisees of December by the organisation which provides private tutoring. They were congratulated on establishing great connections with the media and writing such engaging content.
They were asked by their business development manager to write an article about engaging with the local press for the franchisees' monthly newsletter.
Said Heather: "The award was given for working together with the Lynn News and for our Facebook page, which our manager has called 'exemplary'.
"Our Facebook page celebrates our students' achievements, provides information about our services and has a variety of videos made during lockdown for The Angels of King's Lynn, including stories and kids' activities and advice for parents."
They submitted an article to Kip McGrath's newsletter explaining how they got in touch with the Lynn News following a chance meeting with a member of staff and how they went on to develop a positive relationship resulting in further articles.
In their article, they said: "There's something special about Lynn and West Norfolk – everybody knows somebody that you know. More importantly, everyone wants to help and support each other and chance meetings often lead to great opportunities.
"The Lynn News is always happy to receive our contributions and seems genuinely pleased to see our business grow.
"I am told our Lynn News articles regularly pop up in Google searches for Kip McGrath."
The Kip McGrath centre in Norfolk Street is currently running a family Christmas competition with a question, riddle or puzzle for every day of advent. The prize is a £25 High Street shopping voucher.
