Lynn-based Foster Refrigerator and its sister company Gamko have won an award for making its equipment more accessible by offering a payment holiday to customers.

The business won Supplier of The Year – Business Development in Catering Insight and Foodservice Equipment Journal’s Kitchen and Equipment awards. The award recognises manufacturers who have excelled in developing distributor sales and growing their company.

Andrew Seymour, editorial director of Foodservice Equipment Journal, said during a virtual awards ceremony in December that Foster and Gamko's interest-free payment offer, a three-month payment holiday, made equipment more accessible to customers "during testing times."

Ewen Cairns, UK sales manager for Foster and Gamko, said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for us. We’re so proud of our interest-free credit offering, and we’re overjoyed that it has been independently recognised across the hospitality industry.”

Interest-free credit with the businesses is possible over 12, 18 or 24 months. This means that people are basically halving their monthly bill, all while the product works for them.

He said: "In the current climate, Foster and Gamko are taking all the financial risk, There is no admin fee and, subject to credit check, no need for a deposit, so this really is the ultimate fully transparent no catches deal."

In addition, Foster and Gamko offered a three-month payment holiday on products delivered before March 31, 2021 as a way for the hospitality industry to get back on its feet. "To be clear, there’s absolutely no fee for doing this, it’s a true payment holiday," he said.

Customers have the option to include installation and extended warranty in the deal, making it easy to do business with Foster and Gamko.

Also, the purchase of certain non-Foster and Gamko equipment can be included, up to a maximum of twenty-five per cent of the order value, meaning for example that fabrication could be included within the agreement.
