Borough council chiefs have pledged to do more to help West Norfolk’s firms cash in on the area’s Hanseatic connections following Friday’s conference.
Speaking during the event, West Norfolk Council leader Nick Daubney said more events would be held to build on the success of the Hanse House convention.
The pledge followed the interest shown by many firms in joining networks aimed at developing trade links across Europe.
Mr Daubney said: “This is not the end.”
He also praised the contributions made by the conference’s keynote speakers, Manfred Schurkamp, Dr Andreas Prothmann, Simon Anholt and Dr Hermann Hauser, saying they were “fortunate” to attract contributors of their calibre.
County councillor Alexandra Kemp, who was among the delegates at the conference, also praised the event.
She said: “Lynn is really going places. There was a terrific exchange of ideas at the convention yesterday.
“The hospitality and interaction with people here from so many different backgrounds has been moving.
“Co-operation is really the only way forward on an otherwise bleak international stage.”
