Canine guest officially opens Post Office branch in King's Lynn

Dog friendly Post Office in Lynn's London Road had a canine guest of honour when it was officially opened last month.

Frodo the Cavalier, accompanied by his friend Gizmo, performed the ribbon chewing ceremony to officially mark the relocation of the Post Office from Whites Premier to C & L Newsagents, further along the road.

Business owner Miss Chantelle Hampson said: "It was important to us to have a dog friendly post office because lots of our customers have dogs which are normally tied up outside premises and are at risk getting stolen.

"This means many of our customers are now able to bring them for a walk and a treat and come inside the new Post Office with their owners."

Frodo and Gizmo both belong to Amanda Knight, of Hunstanton.

The relocation of the South Lynn Post Office from Whites had met with opposition from local residents who set up a petition asking for it to remain in the same place.

The Post Office said the new branch would offer extended opening times.
