Magdalen entrepreneur teams up with celebrity for gardening show

A renewable energy entrepreneur from Magdalen has landed a role on a popular ITV garden makeover show, Love your Garden, with Alan Titchmarsh.

Kevin Holland, owner of The Solar Shed Ltd, was asked if he could help fit a small solar power system for a garden room for a woman who has dedicated her life to making money for charity, following the death of her three sons.

The woman uses the garden room as a studio but because there was no mains power electricity, Mr Holland was asked to help out for an episode which will be shown on Tuesday.

Mr Holland said: “Over the years I have landed some pretty unusual jobs and that’s down to the business name.

“Although we have set up a solar business from what is essentially a shed, albeit a very large one, we are often called to help kit out small spaces such as stables, garden rooms and beach huts and sheds.

“We fitted a decent outside light to illuminate the whole garden, an inside light as well as a desk with built-in USB and 12v charging. This allows the lady to chill in the garden room and listen to music.”
