Detectives investigating the deaths of a man and a woman in a shooting incident in Magdalen early yesterday say they are developing a “good understanding” of what happened.
Officers remain at the property in Stow Road where the couple, believed to be Stephen and Allison Muncaster, died.
Detective Superintendant Paul Durham, who is leading the inquiry, said a short time ago: “We are continuing our investigation today and are beginning to obtain a good understanding of what happened during that tragic evening.
I can confirm that a Home Office post-mortem will take place tomorrow morning (July 14) when the cause of death should be confirmed and formal identification of the bodies progressed.
“We continue to collate information regarding the incident and once this process is complete, we will prepare a file for the Coroner.”
The house remains sealed off and officers are still in the area conducting inquiries.
