Man arrested after woman dies in crash on A148
A woman has died following a crash on the main road between Lynn and Fakenham during the early hours of this morning.
A man was also arrested at the scene of the incident on the A148 at East Rudham.
Police said this afternoon that officers were called to the area at around 1.35am today when a silver Vauxhall Insignia, which was heading towards Lynn, was involved in a collision.
The incident happened close to the Abbey Lane junction.
A force spokesman confirmed that a woman in her 40s, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at a scene.
A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink-driving.
The road remained closed for more than eight hours.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or those who have dash cam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
