Man arrested in King’s Lynn over Fairstead robbery

Police in Lynn have arrested a man on suspicion of robbery offences.

Officers were called at 12.10pm today to reports a woman’s handbag had been snatched in Winston Churchill Drive.

Following a search by officers assisted by the police helicopter and a police dog a man was arrested in the Fairstead area at 3pm.

The man, who is aged 19 and from Lynn, has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He has also been arrested on suspicion of a robbery on Chicken Hill at 4.10pm yesterday.

Two other males, both aged 17 and from the Kings Lynn area, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three are currently in police custody and will be questioned by officers later today.

A man and a woman aged in their 50s were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and bailed.

Insp Nathan Franklin said: “We would like to thank local residents for their understanding and co-operation during his incident. If anyone has information regarding these incidents please call the police.”
