Man arrested in Swaffham on suspicion of assaulting parking officer

A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a parking officer while in possession of an offensive weapon.

Police officers were called to Swaffham town centre at lunchtime on Friday after receiving reports that the civil parking enforcement officer was being assaulted on Market Place.

A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was taken to Lynn’s Police Investigation Centre for questioning, and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
