Nordelph man Tony Smith in King’s Lynn court after assaulting ex-wife and her new partner
A man who stormed into his ex-wife’s home before assaulting her and her new partner could be jailed.
Tony Smith, 51, will return to Lynn Magistrates’ Court on April 22 to learn his fate after a bench ordered an all-options pre-sentence report.
He appeared at the court on Thursday, where he pleaded guilty to using violence to enter a premises, two counts of criminal damage, and two of assault by beating.
Smith, of East View in Nordelph, attended his ex-wife’s home in Downham on December 20 last year.
He had been married to her for ten years, but the incident occurred three months after they separated.
On the day, he had contacted to ask if she was in a relationship with anybody else.
He entered through the couple’s front door and damaged a number of their personal belongings in the process.
Smith then assaulted them both. He kicked his ex-wife, before kicking the man twice.
He proceeded to cause more than £5,000 worth of damage to their car outside the property.
Smith, who has no previous convictions, has been released on conditional bail.
